On Tuesday, March 3rd, I welcomed the Arri AMIRA to my camera arsenal. The little brother to the popular ALEXA, the AMIRA takes all of the power of the ALEV III CMOS sensor and puts it a smaller compact body built for handheld shooting.
The AMIRA boasts an amazing OLED viewfinder and can tackle high speed photography up to 200 fps. With the current license, I have the ability to shoot HD and 2K, but within a month Arri will release a new license which with allow me to up rez to UHD 4K.
The camera came with the standard PL Mount, but I am currently on the list for the interchangeable Canon EF mount.
I literally cannot wait to get the first images I capture with this camera out into the world.
Special thanks to my partner on this one, fellow DP Brian Oconnell.
